  • Welcome to the TVC Student Orientation Course

    We would like to welcome you to the TVC Student Orientation course. This course provides an orientation to online learning, and helps students become familiar with Moodle, our course management system.

    Please feel free to poke around and let us know if you have any questions, we are happy to assist. There may be several people using this orientation course at the same time, so you may see unexpected changes as you navigate throughout the course.

    Please begin by reading the TVC Student Handbook (below), and then move down into the other helpful information.

  • Distance Learning Basics

    Distance Learning can be a wonderful alternative to students who do not have the time or ability to get to a campus classroom. The links below provide important information for you to consider before enrolling in online courses.

  • Learning Moodle

    The tutorials below will provide you with basic knowledge on how to do necessary tasks (e-mail, submit assignments, discussion boards) within Moodle.

  • Bookstore

    The bookstore can assist you in supplying the books, or hardware, you may need for your online courses. You can order books online, purchase a laptop receiving a student discount from HP, or access your textbooks in digital format using CafeScribe (some online courses).

  • Information Technology
    • Accounts/Help Guides/Security Policy

      For more information on your network account, access to several help guides, and guidelines for responsible, ethical, and legal use of computing resources.


    • Moodle Help Desk

      If you are having technical problems, please contact the Trine Moodle Support Team by calling 877.730.6240.   You can also send an e-mail, or chat with them live by clicking the links found in the upper-right corner of this page under "Your Moodle Help Desk"

  • Library Services
    • Trine Virtual Library

      Find articles, reports, images, standards and other online information from journals, magazines, newspapers, and electronic reference works and books.

    • Libguides Subject Guides

      Guides to research including evaluating and citing sources and to information sources by course of study (discipline) with additional guides tailored to specific courses and assignments. Access from the LIS website or within your course management system (Moodle).

    • Interlibrary Loan

      Use the Interlibrary Loan service or participate in the Academic Libraries of Indiana Reciprocal Borrowing Program to get books, articles, videos, and more from other libraries. For students and faculty located outside of Indiana, use your home library for borrowing materials and for access to a local Interlibrary Loan program (for faster turnaround).  If you don t have access to a library, contact Trine LIS for further assistance.  You may also recommend items for addition to library collections.  If available, LIS will obtain an electronic version for immediate and convenient 24/7 access.

    • Bibliographic  and  Information Literacy Instruction

      LIS offers multiple modes of instruction to learn how to utilize its many services, resources, and tools from live via face-to-face or video conferencing as well as recorded group sessions or individualize and customized one-on-one consultations with a librarian.  The webpage includes links to HOW TOs covering FAQs and short online tutorials about how to use the multitude of resources and tools provided by the Library.
